Mundays Advise Eqos Limited, portal software suppliers, on the contract with Focus Wickes – September 2003
Eqos press release stated:
"Focus Wickes is adopting Eqos technology to create a portal for working collaboratively with suppliers. Wickes, which has implemented the solution first within the Group, is delighted that within just three weeks, more than 95% of Wickes' 150 plus suppliers are integrated into the system. The Focus business will be implementing the system with their suppliers in the coming months.
The Eqos system replaces the Trading Information Exchange (TIE) from Global eXchange Services (GXS), previously used by Wickes and provides Focus with its first collaborative solution.
"We recognise the importance of working in real-time with suppliers as the ideal way forward for improving sales, costs and operational efficiency and, in particular, in driving category management within the business", says Jeremy Bird, Commercial Director of Wickes. "We knew we needed to leverage information and had to move away from 'old' technology to a more responsive and collaborative solution which shows everyone the same picture of performance".
The first phase of the supplier portal will be the implementation of a Product Performance Management Solution (PPM) for publishing information, raising alerts and managing by exception. From this Focus Wickes will have the necessary technology to review stocks, sales and service levels to enable a "category" view of the business.
The Eqos solution also means that Focus Wickes' trading partners will be able to easily tailor how, when and where they are instantly alerted to resolvable issues such as impending out of stocks, or to opportunities like higher sales versus forecast. Focus Wickes joins retailers such as Sainsbury and Debenhams in selecting Eqos for its supplier relationship management expertise.
"Visibility of how retailers and suppliers are performing is a vital first step to collaborative working and category management, building trust and sharing benefits within this community. Through the Eqos portal, Focus Wickes can now move forward to support a number of collaborative processes which will help meets its ambitious business aims", says Mike Quinn, Chief Executive Officer, Eqos."
