Mundays Invest in Data Recovery System - December 2003

 

MUNDAYS Solicitors have chosen Cerberus, the rapid data recovery service, designed and developed by Datashare Solutions, to form a key role within their overall Disaster Recovery Plan. The use of Cerberus will enable Mundays to reinstate their business-critical data assets almost instantly and assist the firm in compliance with applicable BS Standards together with its statutory obligations in relation to clients' data.

Cerberus is a fully managed IT Disaster Recovery programme offering real time data recovery to key critical systems based on any network. A formal service level agreement ensures that the maximum outages for each system and the network as a whole are clearly defined, allowing Mundays to quantify the full extent of disruption and consequential loss to the business should any of their systems be the subject of virus attack, data corruption, fire, theft, flood or accidental human intervention.

At the core of Cerburus is an Image Gateway Server that hosts images of the predetermined critical systems taken at agreed intervals. In the event of an invocation Datashare can, if necessary, provide an on-site temporary replacement system and then, through the Cerberus Management Control Centre, will reinstate the original operating configuration of its predecessor, including the operating system, applications and all user data from bare metal. For extra security, a copy of the data resident on the Image Gateway Server located at Mundays is kept at a secure offsite data centre location.
