Mundays and Princess Alice Fun Run 2010

On Wednesday 9 June, Bushy Park, Hampton Court was awash with fun runners taking part in the third Mundays Fun Run raising money for Princess Alice Hospice. The event was organised by Alex Young, Chris Saunders and Nicholas Atkins of Mundays and Emma O`Hara of the Princess Alice Hospice.

Over 160 runners registered representing numerous companies across South West London and Surrey including Menzies Accountants, RBS, Octagon Developments, Swift Cover, Savills, RJP Accountants and PKF Accountants to name just a few.

Anthony Jackson won the race in a brilliant time of 17:25 minutes, followed by Ed Proctor of Swift Cover and Jason Laslett of Barnett and Barnett.

The fastest female was from Menzies LLP: Kirsty Scott finished in a time 20:46 minutes and the top two runners under 18 finished just a few minutes later with Benjamin Andrew, the son of Mark Andrew of Mundays crossing the line in 22:14 minutes and Jordan Bealing, son of Steve Bealing of SJ Bealing Ltd coming in at 22:21 minutes.

Emma O’Hara, Community and Event Fundraiser at the Princess Alice Hospice said:

“It is great to receive the continued and dedicated support of Mundays and their staff. Mundays has a longstanding relationship with the charity and the additional financial support generated by their fun runs, is appreciated by everyone in the team. We all look forward to next year’s event”.

Alex Young, a solicitor at Mundays said:

“The third annual fun run was a great success, due in particular to the continued support of the firm’s clients and local firms. This year’s addition of a cake stall to celebrate Mundays’ 50th and the Hospice’s 25th anniversary was a welcome treat raising more money for the Hospice.”

As well as the serious runners competing for the medals, there were many runners out for a fun run, some even took along their babies in buggies and ran, and others chose to walk, taking the time to exercise their dogs. So far, the event has raised in excess of £1,450.

Special thanks must go to Park Run for organising the timing of the race and thanks to all Princess Alice Hospice and Mundays volunteers for marshalling the event and managing the very popular cake stall.
