Wills
We provide a bespoke service which is not restricted to drafting your Wills. As part of our service we include detailed lifetime tax planning to ensure your affairs are arranged in the most tax efficient way. Your Will can be as simple or as complex as you require. We aim to draft a Will that you are happy with and one which deals effectively with your personal circumstances.
Why have a Will?
By putting in place a Will you can ensure that your estate passes according to your wishes on your death. If you die without a valid Will in place (intestate), your estate passes according to the law and this may not be to the people that you wish; e.g. to the disadvantage of cohabitees, children from a first marriage etc.
We can guide you through the steps of making a Will, advise you appropriately and prepare the Will.
We have the experience to advise upon more complex scenarios. We can advise you on:
- Tax planning within your Will to deal with business interests
- Ensuring a fair division of your estate
- Protecting vulnerable beneficiaries
- Statutory Wills for individuals lacking mental capacity who do not have a Will
Why review a Will?
It is essential that you regularly review your Will to ensure it is up-to-date. For example, does your current Will include provisions for grandchildren? Are you aware that there could be additional Inheritance Tax charges on a grandchild’s inheritance following changes in legislation in 2006?
Tax laws change frequently, so much so that a Will drafted in 2001 may contain complex provisions that are no longer necessary today.
Our breadth of experience allows us to provide flexibility in your Will. We pride ourselves on providing Wills that can adapt as the legislation and your personal circumstances change.
Our Fees
Our fees for drafting a Will are based on a fixed fee basis and will be determined by your instructions. We seek to provide you with a Will drafting service that suits your needs.
