Mundays' Schools Initiative
We are proud to have launched and developed Mundays’ Schools Initiative.
A vibrant team of junior and trainee solicitors regularly visit local schools and colleges to talk to students about a career in law, what life is like as a solicitor and the impact of the law in everyday life. Our team has worked with individual classes up to whole of year groups, engaging with students ranging in age from 14 to 18.
To continue our relationship with the schools and colleges we have visited, we also offer a limited number of opportunities for students to visit our offices in Cobham to participate in afternoon mock trials. The experience aims to provide a fun but insightful exposure to court practice.
“I am writing to thank you on behalf of Feltham Community College for the inspiring mock law trial that you held at Mundays in March 2013. It is a fantastic idea as it allows pupils to experience a realistic simulation of what it is like to work in an eminent profession. Many of our pupils come from families where they will be the first to experience tertiary education and so this experience was both novel and inspirational for them. Many of the pupils were keen to consider careers in the legal profession and they have been discussing the trial all week! The materials were realistic, accessible and caused much debate amongst the Year 12 pupils. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming to both myself and the pupils and I cannot thank you enough for dedicating your time to such a venture. The mock law trial is a unique idea which I have not seen replicated elsewhere and I would definitely recommend to any other teachers looking for an educational and thoroughly enjoyable trip.”
Anna Ravenscroft, Head of Year 13 at Feltham Community College
